Sparks Interiors and Antiques

You just never know what new vendor you'll find at Marburger Farm and when their displays immediately stop you, you know you're going to find a treasure.  That happened for me this time.  I know Donald Sparks of Sparks Interiors and Antiques isn't new to Marburger Farm, however he was new to Tent B.  After visiting with him for a while and taking in all his fabulous displays and things, he mentioned he was in Tent H and for this Spring show had moved to Tent B.

I loved how I seemed to find treasure after treasure at every turn.  He had created displays as far up as the eye could see and his booth was like a wonderful maze of things to delight the senses.

My favorite find of all is this tall doorway piece that I bought from him:

As you walked under the doorway piece you came across this table and chairs and awesome silver domes:

Straight in front of me was this awesome cabinet full of more great things:

Now this industrial piece would have looked great any place:

And look at these cute awnings:

Not only did he have industrial items, there were primitive pieces as well:

Take a look at what else he had:

There was a little bit of French items too:

He even had items for your garden:

And he brought a boat as well:

Donald had so many items for you to choose from.  He will be setting up at the Homestead Antique Fair in Hico at the end of May.  I hope you'll come out and find his booth at Marburger Farm in the Fall.

~ Gatherings ~

Each Spring and Fall Agnes Strauss has been setting up at the Marburger Farm Antique Show almost since day one.  She said herself and a handful of vendors set up in a tent.  She's now in a tent of her own.  Her business cards says it all, "A collection of natural treasures from the fields, the woods, & the seashore".

You will most definitely find one of a kind, unique treasures that Agnes has created from seashells attached to great vintage bottles, or naturally dried hydrangeas, or as she had this time one of the best displays that I just couldn't stop staring at.

I could have envisioned her "woodlands" display in a home, that you'll see in the first picture below, in a garden house, or even an office.  Yes I would have put it in my office in heart beat.

Take a look at what she creates:

This piece of coral caught my attention:

It was one of the prettiest pieces of coral I've seen in a while and paired with the mirror was beautiful.

The bottles she welds with shells are works of art on their own.  Add them to your collection or start a new one.

The shells that have naturally formed on these bottles were interesting to see.

More great things that she had in her booth.

Even her displays outside were appealing:

I hope you look for Agnes the next time you come to the show.  You can't miss her, just look for all the plants outside her tent when you drive into the show.  So much more to come.

Dwell with Dignity at the Show

Dwell with Dignity Thrift Studio will be set up at Marburger Farm again for our Spring Show.  We are excited that we are the new Round Top home for Dwell with Dignity.

If you've never heard of them, they are a Dallas non-profit group of interior designers using design to help families escape poverty and homelessness. With plans to expand nation-wide, Dwell with Dignity hopes to meet other interior designers who come to shop at Marburger Farm.

Antiques exhibitors and shoppers at Marburger Farm will have the opportunity throughout the show to donate antiques to be sold at the upcoming Dwell with Dignity Thrift Studio “Pop Up Shop” in the Dallas Design District.

The Marburger Farm Café

is centrally located on the Pedestrian Promenade and includes offerings from:

Blacks BBQ was featured in the famous Texas Monthly listing of the “50 Best Barbecue Joints in Texas".  Black’s is Texas’ oldest barbecue restaurant continuously owned by the same family since 1932. Their meat is seasoned delicious with only salt and pepper.  The super moist brisket cooks for 24 hours before it melts in your mouth and their BBQ sauce is is made from scratch in-house.  Some of the best BBQ you'll eat.  They are one of our two featured food vendors this Spring.

Legal Tender Saloon is a family affair that your family will love.  Legal Tender started 15 years ago at the famous Warrenton antique show and we are pleased that they will have a second location again at Marburger Farm.  They are famous for their sandwiches, soups, and salads.  We hope you are one of the many customers that will be lined to enjoy one of their great lunches!

and

Party Thyme is another favorite food vendor that will be returning again this Spring to our show.  Their tacos always hit the spot, especially after a long day of shopping or stop by and see them first before your shopping begins.

Don't forget that the Blacksmith Bar will be open as well and they will offer beer, wine and our delicious margaritas.  We all know that after a long day of shopping, an ice cold margarita might just be calling your name!

So you see we've got you covered for eats or drinks at the show this year.  You’ll want to come out every day of the week just so that you can try all of the great food we have to offer here.

The Café is open for breakfast and lunch every day during the show.  Shop all day and then come and take breaks at the Cafe for lunch.  We'll save a seat for you!  Six Days and counting.

Blog Party~April 2nd

Hello Marburger Farm Peeps.  I know you all getting excited about the upcoming show, which starts on April 2nd.  Just a little over ONE WEEK away!  Can you believe it, time has flown by so fast since our last show.

I wanted to go ahead and give you a heads up for the next Blog Party.  For the Spring Show, it's scheduled for opening day April 2 at 3:00 pm but this time it will be at Tent A-D4 not in the Gulf Warehouse, like it was this past Fall.  The location is almost directly across from where the Gulf Warehouse Building is.

Please make your calendars and come out and plan to have a great time, meeting other bloggers.  I know that by 3:00, you'll be wanting to take a break from all the shopping.

If you are wondering what is a Blog Party.  Well it’s just a party to meet others that are interested in networking their business and many times by creating a blog this is a great way to get the word out.  Maybe you are in an Antique Shop or you attend various Antique Shows and you want to let your customer base know where you are going to be next, start a blog.  Or if you are having a sale, get the word out on a blog.  It also helps us here at Marburger Farm when you blog about us too.

We are asking if you could please bring a light refreshment, we would appreciate it, chips/dip or cookies or whatever you can.  Thanks and looking forward to seeing you.

One more reminder about the VIB Program

You have until Wednesday to sign up for this.

Spring VIB Program

***Thanks to all that signed up, this post is now closed**

Can you believe it's almost show time.  Just a few weeks away and the lines will be forming for the Spring Marburger Farm Antique Show. We want to go ahead and announce our VIB Program for the Spring Show!
I had several of you ask more about what exactly is the "VIB Program"? As a VIB (Very Important Blogger), this will give you a chance for you as a blogger to tell us why you like coming to the Marburger Farm Show. Who are some of your favorite vendors that you want to see or what are your favorite places to visit? Tell us what are your favorite things you've seen or found here. Give us all the details, we are all ears!

Here are the guidelines this year to sign up for this program.

Provide us the link to a previous post about the Marburger Farm Antique Show. When you leave us a comment, please be sure to include the link. This year, we are changing things a bit. If you've never been or ever posted about Marburger Farm before, please come and check us out this time. You must have blogged about the show to be eligible to enter.

It's that simple. Just provide the link and we'll check it out.

Once approved, we will send you an invitation with a link for you to register as a VIB*. Remember, you must leave us a comment on this post so that we can provide you the new link. Some of you are already eager to sign up, but the old link is no longer valid.

Once you are registered you'll receive a postcard to exchange at the gate for a wristband. Your deadline to register is by March 26! Yes, you only have one week to do so, please hurry and leave us a comment.
*ALL Registered Bloggers will need to check-in with me, Theresa during show hours. This year I'll be located in Tent A, Ad4. Just look for the red ladder with the mannequin and you'll find me. I will not be at the Gulf Warehouse Building this time.
Also, you will not be able to enter early. You must wait until the bell rings to be able to enter and at that time you'll receive a swag bag & credentials. Please do not try to come in early or you will be asked to go back to the line.
A few things we are asking you to please remember, before taking any pictures of dealer's spaces, you must ask them for permission before photographing their displays. If you are allowed to take pictures, please either take their business card or make a note of who the dealer is so that when you blog about them you can give them credit for the photo(s) taken. One thing I've done before is take a picture of their business card before taking pictures of their space. That way in case I can't remember, their name appears before the set of pictures. This is really important to remember because in times past I've seen pictures of dealer's spaces on the internet but at times no credit was given to them and it leaves you wondering who's great space that display was in. It's just really courteous too to credit them because they've worked really hard to find the great things and to display them. We really appreciate you honoring this. Also, please don't take it personal if someone does not allow you take pictures of their space. There are very good reasons for them to tell you no.
One last final note. If you've never signed up to leave a comment on our blog, it's fairly easy. Just follow the steps to initially register.
We are so excited that you want to come back to Marburger Farm and hope you are just blown away at our awesome vendors here. We look forward to seeing you and can't wait to see those posts.
Can you believe the tents are already going up:

Less than two weeks before the show starts!! See you soon.

Marburger Farm in Recent Publications

We are so excited to announce that the Marburger Farm Antique Show and vendors have been featured in several recent publications, like Martha Stewart Living Magazine, Flea Market Style Magazine, Southern Lady and MaryJanesFarm Magazine.

Here are a few pictures from each publication:

Southern Lady:

As the editor wrote in Southern Lady magazine, "Known for it's Texas hospitality and wonderfully unique offerings, the Marburger Farm Antique Show has been a perennial favorite..."  We are so excited that so many of you can't wait to line up at the ropes and once the bell rings you literally are running to get to see your favorite vendors.  And what excites us more are the hundreds of vendors that call the Marburger Farm Antique Show home twice a year, for 10 days of the year.  And as Ashley Ferguson, was quoted as saying "It's more than a show -- it's an experience", she couldn't have said it any better!

Let me encourage you to come and check out the awesome displays and merchandise that each vendor has searched for just to bring to this show.  You won't be disappointed.

Hannah Milman, who is the Living crafts editor and product designer for Martha Stewart Living, included 14 reasons to love Round Top and Marburger Farm Antique Show was on her list:

We are so happy she included us in this issue.  In this issue you'll see what turned her head and what's being collected right now.

In Texas you have to have your cowboy boots.  Don't you own several pairs?

Tell us which brand of boots are your favorite and if you found them at Marburger Farm.

Or better yet tell us what was your favorite find here has been.

The Flea Market Style Magazine is your go to guide for all things vintage:

There are so many Texas shows mentioned here and we are just one of the many lucky shows to be included.  Thanks Ki!

In the Mary Janes Farm Magazine Round Top and Marburger Farm was listed in the Glitz, Glam and Junk article:

April Pizana really captured the heart of the Marburger Show.

We can't thank each publication enough for the coverage of our awesome show.  I hope you are making plans to come and check us out.  It's going to be a fun time in Texas in a few short weeks.  It won't be long before you can start shopping at Marburger Farm.
